Frequently asked questions

When should I use Next.js vs plain React?
Use Next.js when you need SEO (public pages need to rank), performance (fast loads), or full-stack features (API routes). Use plain React (Vite) for private dashboards and internal tools where SEO is irrelevant.
App Router vs Pages Router — which do you use?
We default to App Router for all new Next.js 14+ projects. It offers better performance with React Server Components and co-located layouts. For existing Pages Router projects, we maintain and can migrate incrementally.
Can Next.js replace my backend?
For many applications, yes. Next.js API routes and Server Actions can handle authentication, database queries, file uploads, and third-party integrations without a separate backend server.
Do you deploy to Vercel or custom servers?
Both. Vercel is easiest for Next.js. We also deploy to AWS (Elastic Beanstalk, ECS, Lambda), Azure App Service, and self-managed Linux servers with Nginx.
